So So Modern consists of four friends from Wellington, Aotearoa (New Zealand). Together we love totell tales, construct fables and fabricate parodies of the future through song.
F
ormed in December 2004, as a means to cure symptoms of boredom, we became a conglo-merate of smiles and thumbs turned sky-high.
The result: a healthy concoction of fast-forward thinking and random acts of positivity, known
only to So So Modern.

Armed with the instrumentation of a speculative dream, we plant bombs that win wars. Our music calls upon spirited chants, rhythmic articulations, synthesized calculations, hyperactive guitars and everything in between – advocating a pop music that can be sweet and demented in a schizoid moment. Operating with an inclusive mindset, and by employing a spirit of collaboration, we endeavour to enrich our music within the worlds of design, fine arts, fashion, science, perfor-mance, parties, photography, poetry,
gatherings, families and communities, etc.
We have an ongoing ep project in which sees three self released mini eps under our belt (ep0001, ep0002, ep0003) and another on its way (ep0000).

We have a track on the upcoming Xiu Xiu remix album.We also plan to record a full ep due for release in March 2007.

We are looking to distribute our music, particularly in the places we’re intent on visiting (USA, UK/Europe in 2007). In saying that, we are also looking for people who can help us out with shows, provide a floor to sleep on, or just be our friend. Collectively interested in the meaning fulness of fun, we are relentlessly bent on putting the party back into participation. To this very minute we are busy systemising a strategy for terraforming the world with colour, sound and movement.

In our spare time, we love to make things with our hands, bake and share food, help people, make friends, read, discuss, calculate, draw, write, spend time in good company, and sit in saunas.
